Types of grass:

Raleigh St. Agustine

Raleigh St. Augustine grass is the most popular and widely grown variety of St. Augustine in Texas. It features medium-width blades and a medium green color. This variety is shade-tolerant but still requires 3 to 4 hours of direct sunlight daily. Raleigh grass is known for its tolerance to wear, cold, and drought, and it offers dense coverage when properly watered. For best results, it should be mowed weekly at a height of 2 to 3 inches. It's an excellent choice for both residential and commercial lawns.

Tifway 419 Bermuda

Tifway 419 Bermuda grass features fine-textured, dark green blades and thrives in full sun thanks to its excellent heat tolerance. It is highly resistant to cold, drought, and wear, making it a durable option for high-traffic areas. However, it has low shade tolerance and performs best in areas with consistent sunlight. This grass is best maintained with biweekly mowing at a height of ½ to 1 inch. Tifway 419 is a popular choice for golf courses, sports fields, and both commercial and residential lawns.

El Toro Zoysia

El Toro Zoysia features a medium to dark green color, fine blades, and a dense texture. It offers excellent heat and drought tolerance, along with high resistance to wear—making it both durable and comfortable to walk on. This grass thrives in hot climates and can also tolerate relatively cold conditions. For best results, it should be mowed weekly at a height of 1 to 2 inches. El Toro Zoysia is a great choice for both residential and commercial properties.
